Alouette-III

Few Alouette-III were inducted in PAF in the

late 60s for Search & Rescue duties replacing

H-19s and HH-43s

 

Alouette-III on a SAR training mission. In casualty evacuation role 2 stretcher patients and 2 other

persons can be carried in addition to the pilot.

Alouette-III has been extensively used by Pak Army in the Northern Areas, a number of foreign mountaineers have also been rescued


Seen in the photo is an air to sea rescue hoist, mounted on the port side of the fuselage, which could be used to uplift patients and pilots beyond the enemy lines
